Vancouver’s Dehli 2 Dulbin is electricfying

This five member band has been performing at festivals around the world since 2006.  They have three albums to their credit: Delhi 2 Dublin, Delhi 2 Dublin Remixed and Electric Planet released in May 2010

Tarun Nayar, Sanjay Seran, Kytami, Andrew Kim and Ravi Binning transcend all stereotypes by creating an electrifying fusion of Bhangra, Celtic, Dub Reggae and Electronica.  You can only get up, dance and JUMP, JUMP, JUMP!!

At a performance at Toronto Harbourfront’s Hot and Spicy Festival, Kim of Korean descent played electric sitar  and guitar and performed in a kilt. Kytami played a kick-ass fiddle. Seran performed fine Punjabi vocals while Binning and Nayar backed up with solid Bhangra percussion.

Evolving Music probably says it best:“  Imagine the energy and cultural fervour of a huge Indian wedding party colliding with a bunch of drunken Irishmen dancing on a wooden table with fiddles! Delhi 2 Dublin has created their own niche at the intersection of gritty hip hop and electronic beats, traditional Indian influences and that raw Celtic sound that packs a punch – all of which make you want to get up and dance.”

Come on all you Bollywood wannabes, turn those lightbulbs  :)
